“Praise the Lord.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures forever.”
– Psalm 106:1
“Give thanks to the Lord.” I find it hard to utter those words these days. 2020 has not been the year I imagined back on January 1. I do give thanks to the Lord, however, because I am blessed. Perhaps you are too. I am grateful for my family and friends, for God’s creation, for those who serve our community, for our essential workers, for those who grow, produce, and deliver our food, for our priests and religious, and for you, the Cursillo community.
When I stop complaining about “my loss of 2020”, I realize that perhaps God forced me to rearrange my priorities. I pay more attention to relationships near and far. I am more attentive to those impacted greatly by this pandemic and to those whose daily, pre-Covid struggles have been amplified and illuminated by it. I’m praying more often and longer. Many of you taught me to “chose joy”.
I know you all are grateful for God’s blessings in your lives. I hope that this Thanksgiving week allows you time and space to reflect on God’s goodness in your lives.
On behalf of the Secretariat, I wish your families and you a safe, healthy, faith-filled, joyful, and Happy Thanksgiving.
Our first online Ultreya is scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, November 23 at 6:45PM. The Fall 2019 Men’s and Women’s teams are jointly hosting. And there will be one small surprise! Members of the Secretariat will “hang around” afterwards to answer any questions you might have. Details below. We are looking forward to seeing all of you!
Julie Goshy-Stalions will start a new Co-Ed Group Reunion (4th Day) that will meet on Saturdays from 9AM-10AM. It starts November 28. Details are below.
We are looking to secure a date for an online Advent Liturgy with Father Chris Bennett. Please keep an eye out for more information in the next 1-2 weeks. We will post the link in the near future so that all of you may be able to attend.
The Secretariat is discerning for both the Post-Cursillo Chair and the Three-Day Chair. These are opportunities to serve our community and be a steward to the Cursillo Charism. The situation is becoming urgent. Won’t you please prayerfully consider serving our Community? Please see below.
And finally, please keep in prayer, our Cursillistas who are struggling with cancer, COVID-19 and/or the loss of love ones.
You are in my daily prayers!
Sincerely and De Colores,
Larry Cargnoni
