My Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23

I want to briefly update the community on a few items that you may find of interest.

The Secretariat has made no decision on holding (or not) the Spring 2021 weekends.  As communicated in earlier Newsletters, the health and safety of our candidates, teams, community, Sisters of Saint Clare, and any impacted family members are paramount.  We will continue to monitor the guidance of State, County, City, and Diocese jurisdictions.  The Secretariat is in no rush to “put on a weekend” just for the sake of having a weekend.  Ensuring that candidates and team have faith-filled journey that is meaningful and enables candidates achieve a metanoia and feel God’s grace, is second only to the safety of all concerned.  We like to tell candidates, “The Holy Spirit is in charge. When it’s your weekend, you’ll know.”  The same holds true for us, “The Holy Spirit is in charge. When it’s time to have a weekend, we’ll know.”

I want to call your attention to two notable invitations.  First, each of you is invited to the Oakland Cursillo Grand Ultreya on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 11AM.  Second, the Foundation of Eduardo Bonnin Aguiló-USA is holding A “Week with Eduardo” (Bonnin Aguiló), considered the founder of Cursillo. The “Week” starts on August 17.  Details for both of the events are found below.

And finally, we are in contact with the Sisters at Saint Clare. The Sisters have a set of renovations in progress (the roof and kitchen) and the elevator is being installed in St Agnes Hall.  They are creating a new website. The Sisters and a few us are meeting to better understand their short and long term needs.  It is safe to say that the Sisters would appreciate your prayers and any monetary support that you might be willing to provide (https://stclaresretreat.com/operating-costs/).

Please be safe and please continue being that Light of Christ to all you meet.  You never know who you will bring to Christ.

You are in my daily prayers.
Sincerely and De Colores,

Larry Cargnoni
