“Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you.” Luke 1:28
The month of May is when we Catholics honor our Blessed Mother, Mary. It’s a month to praise Mary and thank her for praying for us, interceding on our behalf to her son Jesus Christ.
Mary is my role model for trusting God: Annunciation, flight to/from Egypt, losing/finding Jesus in the Temple, standing at the foot of the Cross, and placing her Son in the tomb. She shows me how to persevere and to suffer gracefully. She also shows me the glory and promise of Jesus and Heaven. I find peace in praying to her.
I invite you to pray to Mary this month and to share your hopes, dreams, fears, and sorrows with her. Ask her to guide and protect your family, loved ones and you during this pandemic.
Join us for Praying the Rosary on Wednesday May 6 at 6:45PM, the Glorious Mysteries (details under Upcoming Events below.) On Wednesday May 20 we will pray a devotional to Mary. Details will be forthcoming.
And finally, regardless of how much “opening” our County may or may not do, everyone will not be leaving their “shelter”:
- Please continue reaching out to your community – phone calls, email, texts – be present for someone – we are not “done” and many need to know they are not alone.
- Keep your 4th Days going – many of you are! Please invite others from your weekend or your parish to your 4th Days. Contact us if you need information. If you’ve not met online, we have resources on at www.sanjosecursillo.org/covid19 to enable your 4th Days.
- Volunteer and serve our community if you can (details below).
- Pray for our priests and religious. Call or email them and offer support and encouragement.
Please stay healthy and safe. You are in my daily prayers.
De Colores,
Larry Cargnoni
