“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom should I fear?
The LORD is my life’s refuge; of whom should I be afraid?” – Pslam 27Holy Week is here. We anxiously await with excitement and anticipation Christ’s resurrection which we will celebrate this coming Easter Sunday.
But alas, before we celebrate the Lord’s victory over death on Easter, we must walk with Jesus through the Last Supper on Holy Thursday and His Passion and death on Good Friday. Jesus gives us the beautiful sacrament of the Eucharist at the Last Supper. That beauty is quickly over shadowed by betrayal, abandonment, grief, pain, and death. Jesus’ disciples didn’t comprehend was going to happen, but we know. We know Jesus is alive! We carry the resurrection, light, hope, and grace of Jesus in our hearts.
Please, keep being and sharing your risen light of Christ to those around you. Please keep helping those that need help, calling those who are isolated and may not have family around to check in on them.
Please pass on your gratitude to and keep in prayer our health care workers, our priests and religious, those working in essential services, and those working to feed and house the marginalized and unemployed. Please support these people in the safest and most practical way you can.
If you can volunteer and help distribute food this week or over the next several, please see details in the Newsletter below.
The Secretariat and I extend to each of you a blessed Holy Week. May God grant you all His graces this Easter Sunday and beyond.
