De Colores! I hope you are enjoying God’s colorful gift of color –  blazing and sunlit reds, oranges, tans, and browns (and some green) – as we enter our Fall season.  The Secretariat and I hope this find you all well!

We have several important and exciting events in October:

  • October 3-6: Men’s Fall Weekend at St Clare
  • October 16: Ultreya at Church of the Resurrection
  • October 17-20: Women’s Fall Weekend at St Clare
  • October 30: Spring 2020 Rector / Rectora Discernment at Santa Teresa Parish

Men’s Fall 2019 Weekend

Rector Harry Stice and his team and team are prepared to lovingly serve the men candidates. Please keep the men’s team and the candidates with their respective sponsors in your prayer. You may find their names on our 2019 Fall Weekends page.

Online Prayer Chart

Our weekends run on prayer and there are still open slots on our online prayer chart that can be found on our 2019 Fall Weekends page.

Palanca

Mimi Bini and Susan Lola have generously open their homes as the two palanca drop off locations that can be found on our 2019 Fall Weekends page. Please note when they are ready to start collecting palanca and the cut off times each day. You may also give your palanca to a team member or one of the sponsors beforehand A couple of reminders:

  • There will be five (5) runs for the candidates with 2 runs on Friday, 2 runs on Saturday, and 1 run on Sunday.
  • There will be two (2) runs for the team members with 1 run for Friday and Saturday.

Palanca are prayers, good works, and sacrifices we do for, or offer on behalf of, the team and candidates. We write cards and notes to the team and candidates and express those offerings of prayers, good works, or sacrifice, made on, or for, their behalf.  We also may write notes and prayers of encouragement in the name of Christ.

Women’s Fall 2019 Weekend

Rectora Laura Castellano and her team are in the final stages of preparation for our new women candidates. Please keep the women’s team and the candidates with their sponsors in your prayer. You may find their names on our 2019 Fall Weekends page along with the online prayer chart.

We will provide an update on the Women’s team and candidates as we get closer to October 17.

Candidates Needed

The Women’s weekend has some room for additional candidates.
This is now is the time to invite your friends and family to make a Cursillo weekend.

Please note that:

  • A sponsor from the same parish can often make all the difference in the candidates’s successful post-Cursillo.
  • When a team member sponsors a candidate, there needs to be a co-sponsor.

Come and join together as we welcome our new Cursillistas, celebrate with the team, pray, sing, and support each other on our spiritual journey.

We are told “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Come join us as we celebrate and support each other as we journey together as “Grace-filled Christians.”

Join your fellow Cursillistas for an evening to gather and pray for qualified candidates discerning to serve as the Spring 2020 Rector and Rectora.

The evening with begin with an opening ceremony – song and prayer – before the candidates meet with a facilitator in a private room. During the discernment, the community continues to pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance through scripture, song, prayer, and meditation. We will end the evening with offering our prayer and ‘De Colores’.

We will have it at Santa Teresa Parish in the Chapel that is adjacent to the Conference Room and Sacristy.
