The evening with begin with an opening ceremony – song and prayer – before the candidates meet with a facilitator in a private room. During the discernment, the community continues to pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance through scripture, song, prayer, and meditation. We will end the evening with offering our prayer and ‘De Colores’.

We will have it at Santa Teresa Parish in the Chapel that is adjacent to the Conference Room and Sacristy.

Request from The Grateful Garment Project

Lisa, the Executive Director of The Grateful Garment Project (and a Cursillista), would like to make a request of all the 4th Day groups in Cursillo. We are especially trying to reach our men.

The Grateful Garment Project is an organization that helps cloth victims of sexual abuse, most of the time their clothes are taken as evidence and they are sent home in a hospital gown.

Please consider collecting men’s boxer shorts (no white briefs, please), size Med – 2X for the month of October.

She finds her inventory very depleted in men’s boxer shorts. The hospitals have requested NO WHITE BRIEFS as there is often trauma to that area and they can be too tight fitting. So the trauma centers want ONLY boxers.

If Cursillistas from 4th Day groups could get together two or three packages of boxers, sized Med – 2X, that would be wonderful. Doug and Mary Ellen Bray will take charge of collecting them and will get them down to Lisa. Or you can bring what you’ve collected to the Ultreya on October 16, 2019 at Church of the Resurrection.

Thank you for your time and attention to this request.

Doug & Mary Ellen Bray. You can contact them through one of the Secretariat members via https://sanjosecursillo.org/secretariat/.

In Conclusion …

Know that you are in my prayers every day.  Recall YOUR response to this question, “Who is the Church?” … And may you keep striving towards your personification of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Blessings,

Lay Director
