Lay Director Message

Chris Basanese / Lay Director

Dear Cursillistas

Happy Pentecost! May this great feast celebrating the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the Church be a time of blessing for you, your families and your friends.

This wonderful time finds us in Cursillo preparing for upcoming Weekends and transitions on the Secretariat.

Secretariat: Help Needed

While we have filled some of the soon to be vacant roles on the Secretariat we still have openings.  We are looking for folks interested in being:

Fourth Day Chair
Secretary
Communications Chair
(a Secretariat support position)

Job descriptions for the Fourth Day Chair and Secretary can be found on the Cursillo website under the Secretariat button found in the What is Cursillo section. If you are interested in any of these positions please contact me.

Secretariat: Help Found

I am pleased to report that we have filled some of the open positions on the Secretariat coming open due to term limits. The newly chosen Secretariat members, whose terms start July 1, are:

Assistant Lay Director: Sue Winklebleck (moves to this role from the Secretary Position)
Three Day Chair: MK Lee
Assistant Spiritual Advisor: Sheri Burns

I am grateful for all who stepped forward to apply for these three positions.

Fall Teams are forming

Both Jesse Orendain and Norma Basanese are gathering folks together for the Fall teams. While a lot of this is done – there is still room on both teams. You newbies (anyone who made their weekend Fall 2017 or before and who have never worked a weekend) are in particular high demand as we seek to have a third of every team made up of rookies. Whether you are rookie or not – If you want to work or even if you just want to find out more – fill out and Send the “Work a Weekend Form” found on “The Weekend” menu tab on the San Jose Cursillo website (sanjosecursillo.org).

I hope to see many of you at the upcoming School of Leaders occurring May 31st at St. Nicholas Catholic Church Parish Hall, 473 Lincoln Ave, Los Altos, CA 94022.

Know that you are in my prayers always.

The Discernment

Please Welcome our New Rector & Rectora

The Cursillo community met at Santa Teresa Parish Chapel to pray for the individuals who were discerning to become the Rector and Rectora for the Fall 2018 Cursillo weekends. After much prayer and personal reflection, the Holy Spirit has chosen Jesse Orendain and Norma Basanese to lead these teams in the Fall. Please hold them both in prayer has they begin seeking God’s guidance to form their teams.
