Lay Director Message

Chris Basanese / Lay Director

Dear Friends,

I hope your days are going well as the Season of Fall is upon us. As we close out the month of September with the Men’s and Women’s weekends rapidly approaching, I would like to draw your attention to multiple ways you can help with the respective teams and candidates.

Help with Meals Needed for the Fall Men’s Weekend

Hello fellow Cursillistas!

Loren Van Huystee, the head cook for the upcoming Men’s Fall weekend is asking if anyone (individual, 4th day, etc.) is still interested in contributing a Palanca gift tohelp cover the cost of food for the upcoming weekend (October 4-7). Even the smallest cash or item will help us. If you can help contribute, please contact Loren directly at (408) 204-7074 (call/text ok). Thanks so much!

Prayers for the Men’s and Women’s Weekends

… or where can I find the Prayer Charts

In addition to the usual prayer charts that show up at Ultreyas and School Of Leaders, we now have signups available on an online Prayer Chart for each weekend. Many thanks to John Huân Vu for setting this up.

To get to the online Prayer Chart:

  1. Go to the Cursillo website at http://www.sanjosecursillo.org.
  2. Under the top menu item “The Weekend”, choose the drop down link to “Current Weekends” [Link].
  3. When the page loads, scroll down to the bottom of the page where you can find links to each respective weekend’s team list, candidates list, and now a prayer chart.
  4. Click on the respective weekend’s Prayer Chart link and a Google Spreadsheet will appear.
    1. Men’s Weekend Google Spreadsheet
    2. Women’s Weekend Google Spreadsheet
  5. Once you selected the date(s) and time(s) you would like to pray during the weekend, select the time slot(s) and type your name and take note of it
  6. Once you are done, close the page since your entry will be saved and please remember to pray during the time you picked.

Palanca of Prayer and Good Works
The lists for the team and candidates for both the Men’s and Women’s weekends are up on the website [Link]. Please pray for the weekends and all who are present. Please also prepare your Palanca cards and letters to share with the candidates and team members alike with prayers and good works you have offered up on their behalf.
