2019 Jan 2: Lay Director Message

Beloved Cursillistas

I hope this Christmas season and start of the new year are going well for you, your families and your friends. There are some upcoming events and issues I would like to draw your attention to.

Fr. Saju’s Jubilee

I would like to again remind you of the celebration commemorating Fr. Saju Joseph’s 25th Anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood.
The celebration will be this Saturday, January 5, 2019 at St. Martin of Tours Parish, 200 O’Connor Dr. San Jose, CA 95128. The celebration will begin with a concelebrated Jubilee Mass at 5:00 PM, followed by a reception at the parish gym.
In lieu of gifts, Fr. Saju is asking people to consider giving to the Catholic Community Foundation of Santa Clara County Fr. Saju Charitable Fund. Information on the fund and how to donate can be found at https://giving.cfoscc.org/father-saju.

Ultreya

On Thursday, January 17, 2019 will be our monthly Ultreya at St. Julie Billiart Parish, 366 St Julie Drive, San Jose, CA 95119. I encourage you all to attend – especially those who are on the teams for the upcoming weekends. It is a great way to reconnect and the community will miss you when you are not there. If you can, please RSVP on the Facebook Event.

School of Leaders

On Thursday, January 31, 2019 will be our monthly School of Leaders at Queen of Apostles Church, 4911 Moorpark Ave, San Jose, CA 95129. Fr. Angelo, Pastor of St. Julie Billiart, will be giving the Doctrinal talk on Christian Discipleship. I encourage you all to attend – especially those who are on the teams for the upcoming weekends. It is a great way to reconnect and the community will miss you when you are not there. If you can, please RSVP on the Facebook Event.

Spring Weekends

Preparations for the Spring Weekends are going well. Our Spring 2019 Men’s Rector – Marty Dale and Women’s Rectora – Lyn O’Connell and their respective teams are meeting regularly to prepare for the weekends. Now is the time to say prayers that will be behind the palanca you prepare for them.
It’s not too early to start getting candidates lined up for the Spring weekends. Applications and information for potential candidates can also be found San Jose Cursillo website at http://www.sanjosecursillo.org.

In Conclusion …

Know that you are all in my prayers each day. If you ever have any questions, concerns or even things you are happy about that you wish to share with me – send me an e-mail message and I will do my best to respond by email or phone. Blessings, Chris Basanese Lay Director cgbasanese@gmail.com
